«ما صدای شما را می‌شنویم»؛ حمایت دولت استرالیا از ایرانیان پناهجو در دیدار با معاون وزیر دفاع
با بالا گرفتن فشارها بر ایرانیان در داخل و خارج کشور، انجمن زنان ایرانی گامی عملی برای طرح مطالبات پناهجویان برداشت و پای یکی از مقام‌های ارشد دولت استرالیا را به گفت‌وگویی بی‌پرده باز کرد.
به گزارش رادیو نشاط، در سایه وخامت بی‌سابقه وضعیت حقوق بشر در ایران، موج جدید بازداشت‌های خودسرانه، محاکمه‌های ناعادلانه بدون وکیل، و افزایش احکام اعدام، انجمن زنان ایرانی در استرالیا سلسله دیدارهایی را با مقامات بلندپایه فدرال آغاز کرده تا صدای اعتراض، بلاتکلیفی و رنج پناهجویان ایرانی را به نهادهای تصمیم‌گیر منتقل کند.
در همین چارچوب، روز گذشته نشستی مهم با حضور آقای پیتر خلیل، نماینده پارلمان فدرال و معاون وزیر دفاع استرالیا، در مرکز اجتماعی گلنروی (Glenroy Community Hub) برگزار شد. این نشست با حضور جمعی از فعالان جامعه ایرانی و اعضای انجمن زنان ایرانی، فرصتی ارزشمند برای بیان مستقیم دغدغه‌ها و مشکلات پناهجویان و خانواده‌های آنان فراهم ساخت.
آقای خلیل با اشاره به وضعیت متزلزل منطقه و آتش‌بس ناپایدار میان ایران و اسرائیل، تأکید کرد: «دولت استرالیا بیش از هر زمان دیگری متعهد به حمایت از جامعه ایرانی در این کشور است.» وی افزود که پناهجویان ایرانی، در کنار جوامع افغانستان، پاکستان و برمه، در اولویت‌های ویژه دولت برای تسریع روند بررسی درخواست‌های ویزا و پناهندگی قرار گرفته‌اند.
این نماینده فدرال با یادآوری تجربه تلخ پنج دهه سرکوب، شکنجه، و نقض حقوق بشر در ایران، اظهار داشت: «ما به‌خوبی می‌دانیم مردم ایران چه رنج‌هایی را تحمل کرده‌اند؛ و این مسئولیت ماست که از اعضای این جامعه در استرالیا حمایت کنیم.»
در جریان این جلسه، پیشنهادات، پرسش‌ها و دغدغه‌های مختلفی از سوی حاضران مطرح شد؛ از پرونده‌های بلاتکلیف گرفته تا شرایط دشوار خانواده‌های پناهجویان. آقای خلیل متعهد شد که این نکات را در دیدار آتی خود با وزیر مهاجرت، آقای تونی بلک، به بحث و بررسی بگذارد.
انجمن زنان ایرانی اعلام کرده است که این نشست، آغاز مرحله‌ای تازه در گفت‌وگوهای هدفمند با تصمیم‌سازان سیاسی استرالیاست؛ تلاشی سازمان‌یافته برای رساندن صدای ایرانیان پناهجو به نهادهایی که می‌توانند تغییری واقعی در سرنوشت آنان رقم بزنند.

"We Hear You": Australian Government’s Support for Iranian Asylum Seekers Highlighted in Meeting with Assistant Defence Minister
As pressures mount on Iranians both inside and outside the country, the Iranian Women’s Association has taken a decisive step by initiating direct talks with senior members of the Australian Government to raise urgent concerns of Iranian asylum seekers.
According to Radio Neshat, amidst the alarming deterioration of human rights in Iran — including a fresh wave of arbitrary arrests, unfair trials without legal representation, and a sharp rise in death penalty sentences — the Iranian Women’s Association in Australia has launched a series of high-level meetings with federal officials to amplify the voices of affected asylum seekers and their families.
As part of this initiative, a significant meeting was held yesterday at the Glenroy Community Hub with Mr. Peter Khalil, Federal MP and Assistant Minister for Defence. The session, attended by members of the Iranian community and representatives from the Women’s Association, served as a vital platform to raise unresolved issues and share firsthand accounts of the hardships faced by Iranian refugees.
Mr. Khalil, referring to the current regional instability and the fragile ceasefire between Iran and Israel, stressed that “the Australian Government is more committed than ever to supporting the Iranian community in Australia.” He added that Iranian asylum seekers, along with those from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Burma, are among the government’s top priorities for expedited visa processing.
Highlighting nearly five decades of political repression, torture, and systemic human rights violations in Iran, Mr. Khalil stated: “We know what the Iranian people have been through — and that knowledge strengthens our responsibility to support the members of this community here in Australia.”
Throughout the meeting, participants raised a wide range of concerns — from long-delayed immigration cases to the difficult living conditions of refugee families. Mr. Khalil assured attendees that he would present all the issues and suggestions in his upcoming meeting with the Minister for Immigration, Mr. Tony Burke, for further discussion and policy consideration.
The Iranian Women’s Association has emphasized that this meeting marks the beginning of a new phase of strategic engagement with key policymakers in Canberra — an organized effort to ensure that the voices of Iranian asylum seekers are heard by those who have the power to create real change.
