انتصاب پیتر خلیل به معاونت وزارت دفاع؛ تقدیر از داوطلبان انتخاباتی در مراسم «Khalil at the Grill»
در پی تغییرات تازه در کابینه دولت فدرال استرالیا، پیتر خلیل، نماینده حوزه ویلسون (Wills) در پارلمان فدرال، به سمت معاون وزیر دفاع استرالیا منصوب شد. این انتصاب همزمان با برگزاری مراسمی با عنوان «Khalil at the Grill» برای قدردانی از داوطلبان کمپین انتخاباتی وی صورت گرفت.

آقای پیترخلیل، که از اعضای ارشد حزب کارگر و از نمایندگان فعال در حوزه سیاست خارجی و امنیت ملی است، در پیامی در شبکه‌های اجتماعی از اعتماد نخست‌وزیر آنتونی آلبانیزی قدردانی کرد و نوشت:
«از نخست‌وزیر بابت اعتمادش به من برای انتصابم به عنوان معاون وزیر دفاع سپاسگزارم.»
وی پیش‌تر نیز در کمیته‌های کلیدی دفاعی و اطلاعاتی پارلمان فعالیت داشته و این انتصاب را بسیاری از تحلیلگران، گامی مهم در جهت تقویت رویکرد تخصص‌محور دولت در حوزه دفاعی می‌دانند.
همزمان، پیتر خلیل در روز شنبه میزبان مراسمی با عنوان «Khalil at the Grill» بود تا از صدها داوطلب انتخاباتی که در روند تبلیغات و فعالیت‌های میدانی برای پیروزی حزب کارگر تلاش کردند، قدردانی کند. او در این رویداد گفت:
«چه در هنگام در زدن به خانه‌ها، چه تماس‌های تلفنی، حضور در ایستگاه‌های قطار و مراکز خرید، توزیع برگه‌های تبلیغاتی یا نصب بنرها؛ شما داوطلبان با قلب و انرژی‌تان ستون‌های این پیروزی بودید.»
پیتر خلیل که در میان جامعه چندفرهنگی استرالیا و به‌ویژه ایرانیان مقیم، چهره‌ای شناخته‌شده و محبوب به‌شمار می‌رود، همواره از تعامل با رسانه‌ها، از جمله رادیو نشاط، برای رساندن صدای این جامعه حمایت کرده است.

Peter Khalil Appointed Assistant Minister for Defence; Thanks Volunteers at “Khalil at the Grill”

Peter Khalil, Federal MP for Wills and senior member of the Australian Labor Party, has been appointed Assistant Minister for Defence in the latest cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. The announcement coincided with a community event titled “Khalil at the Grill”, held on Saturday to thank volunteers for their tireless efforts during the recent election campaign.
In a public statement, Khalil expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister, saying:
“I thank the Prime Minister for his confidence in me, appointing me as the Assistant Minister for Defence.”
Khalil, known for his strong background in foreign policy and national security, has previously served on key parliamentary committees related to intelligence and defence. Analysts view his appointment as a strategic move by the government to strengthen its defence and security agenda.
On the same weekend, Khalil hosted “Khalil at the Grill”, a special gathering to honour volunteers who supported his campaign through doorknocking, phonebanking, station visits, flyer distribution, and sign installation. Addressing the crowd, he said:
“Whether it was doorknocking, phonebanking, standing with me at train stations or shopping centres, handing out at pre-poll and on election day, or helping with signs – your efforts made this victory possible. I am truly grateful.”
