خانم الیزابت، لطفاً خودتان را معرفی کنید و درباره‌ی موسسه گودفیلم و نحوه فعالیت آن توضیح دهید.
«من کار حرفه‌ای خود را در عرصه سیاست آغاز کردم اما به مرور زمان دریافتم که افزایش قطبی‌شدن و بی‌اعتمادی در جامعه، یکی از بزرگ‌ترین تهدیدهای دموکراسی به‌شمار می‌رود. این آگاهی، من را بر آن داشت تا موسسه گودفیلم را تأسیس کنم. در گودفیلم ما بر این باوریم که با وجود تفاوت‌های فردی، یک داستان خوب می‌تواند پلی میان مردم ایجاد کند. داستان‌ها تنها درباره تعیین درست یا غلط بودن نیستند؛ بلکه محتوای آن‌ها درباره همدلی، کنجکاوی و ارتباط انسانی است. مأموریت ما تقویت آثار سینمایی مهم، از جمله «دانه‌ی انجیر معابد» و ایجاد فرصت‌هایی برای تبادل نظر و یادگیری میان جوامع مختلف از طریق رویدادهای سینمایی می‌باشد. علاوه بر این، ما با همکاری مؤسسات خیریه سعی می‌کنیم پیام فیلم‌ها را به اقدام تبدیل کنیم؛ به طوری که بینندگان در صورت الهام گرفتن بتوانند از طریق اهدا یا داوطلب شدن، سهمی در تغییرات مثبت اجتماعی داشته باشند.»
از دیدگاه شما، ویژگی‌های قابل توجه فیلم «دانه‌ی انجیر معابد» چیست و این فیلم چه پیامی را به مردم استرالیا منتقل می‌کند؟
فیلم «دانه‌ی انجیر معابد» نگاهی نادر و واقع‌بینانه به زندگی زنان ایرانی و چالش‌های زندگی در شرایط یک رژیم استبدادی دارد. این اثر که به‌صورت مخفیانه در ایران فیلم‌برداری شده و از سوی کارگردان شناخته‌شده و منتقد حکومت، محمد رسول‌اف، ساخته شده است، سؤالی مهم را مطرح می‌کند:
چگونه در شرایط سخت می‌توان به ارزش‌های فردی وفادار ماند و در عین حال عزیزانمان را محافظت کرد؟
این فیلم با به کارگیری تصاویر واقعی از اعتراضات «زن، زندگی، آزادی» در سال ۲۰۲۲ - اعتراضاتی که پس از قتل تراژیک مهسا امینی به دلیل پوشیدن لباس شعله‌ور شد، داستان‌های شخصی و انسانی پشت این رویدادها را به تصویر می‌کشد و برای مخاطبان استرالیایی بسیار قابل لمس و همدلانه است.
علی‌رغم ادامه‌ی اعتراضات و سرکوب‌های مکرر در ایران، این اثر ما را به همبستگی با کسانی دعوت می‌کند که برای تغییر، آزادی و به‌ویژه حقوق زنان می‌جنگند. شجاعت محمد رسول‌اف و تیم او در روایت این داستان‌ها، نمونه‌ای از تعهد به صداقت و مقاومت است.»
در نهایت، به عنوان یک زن فعال در عرصه سینما، نقش زنان در صنعت فیلم جهانی را چگونه ارزیابی می‌کنید؟
«حضور زنان در نقش‌های رهبری در صنعت سینما بسیار حیاتی است. در حال حاضر تنها حدود ۲۰ درصد از فیلم‌های بزرگ توسط زنان کارگردانی یا به عنوان تهیه‌کننده اجرایی هدایت می‌شوند. زمانی که زنان در این عرصه حضور فعال داشته باشند، شاهد به تصویر کشیدن شخصیت‌های زن با عمق و پیچیدگی بیشتری هستیم؛ شخصیت‌هایی که چندبعدی، قابل همذات‌پنداری و انسانی هستند. زنان با ارائه دیدگاه‌های تازه نسبت به مسائل جهانی از قبیل هوش مصنوعی، جنگ و موضوعات جنسی، روایت‌های برانگیزنده و تفکر برانگیزی ارائه می‌دهند. این امر به ما کمک می‌کند تا خودمان را بهتر بشناسیم و نقشی مؤثر در جامعه ایفا کنیم. این نوع بازنمایی نه تنها برای زنان بلکه برای تمام گروه‌هایی کوچکتر اهمیت دارد، چرا که نمایش واقعی و صادقانه در صفحه نمایش، به ارتباط ما با هویت‌های متفاوت و ایجاد تغییرات مثبت در جامعه منجر می‌شود.»

"Although I began my professional career in politics, I eventually realized that the increasing polarization and distrust in society is one of the greatest threats to democracy. This awareness led me to establish GoodFilm. At GoodFilm, we believe that despite our individual differences, a good story can serve as a bridge between people. Our stories aren’t merely about determining who is right or wrong; they are about empathy, curiosity, and human connection. From your perspective, what are the notable qualities of "The Seed of the Sacred Fig," and what message does it convey to the people of Australia?
"'The Seed of the Sacred Fig' offers a rare, realistic glimpse into the lives of Iranian women and the challenges they face under an authoritarian regime. Secretly filmed in Iran by the well-known, government-critical director Mohammad Rasoulof, this film poses an essential question: How can one remain true to one’s values while protecting one’s loved ones in harsh conditions? By incorporating real footage from the 2022 'Woman, Life, Freedom' protests—unleashed in the wake of Mahsa Amini’s tragic death for wearing what was deemed inappropriate clothing—the film powerfully illustrates the personal, human stories behind these events. For Australian audiences, this makes the film exceptionally relatable and empathetic. Despite the ongoing protests and recurring repression in Iran, the film calls on us to stand in solidarity with those fighting for change, freedom, and especially women’s rights. The courage of Mohammad Rasoulof and his team in telling these stories is a testament to their commitment to truth and resistance."
Finally, as a woman active in the cinema field, how do you assess the role of women in the global film industry?
"The presence of women in leadership roles in the film industry is incredibly important. Currently, only about 20% of major films are directed or executive produced by women. When women are actively involved, we see female characters portrayed with greater depth and complexity—multidimensional, relatable, and authentically human. Women bring fresh perspectives to global issues such as artificial intelligence, war, and sexuality, offering thought-provoking narratives that help us understand ourselves better and encourage us to play a more effective role in society. This kind of representation is crucial not only for women but also for all underrepresented groups, as genuine and honest portrayals on screen foster connections with diverse identities and drive positive social change."
