ممنوعیت نگهداری و فروش قمه در ویکتوریا از سپتامبر ۲۰۲۵
شهروندان ویکتوریا تنها تا پایان نوامبر ۲۰۲۵ فرصت دارند قمه‌های خود را بدون جریمه تحویل پلیس دهند.
به گزارش رادیو نشاط، دولت ویکتوریا اعلام کرده است که از ۱ سپتامبر ۲۰۲۵ داشتن، حمل، استفاده، خرید و فروش قمه (Machete) در این ایالت غیرقانونی خواهد بود. متخلفان در صورت نداشتن مجوز یا معافیت معتبر، با جریمه‌ای بیش از ۴۷ هزار دلار یا تا ۲ سال زندان مواجه می‌شوند.
بر اساس این قانون جدید، شهروندان تا تاریخ ۳۰ نوامبر ۲۰۲۵ فرصت دارند قمه‌های موجود را بدون دریافت جریمه به پلیس تحویل دهند. برای این منظور، سطل‌های دفع ایمن در برخی حوزه‌های پلیس تعبیه شده است و افراد می‌توانند قمه‌های خود را پس از بسته‌بندی ایمن در این محل‌ها قرار دهند.
با وجود این ممنوعیت، برخی معافیت‌های فرهنگی، تاریخی و سنتی در نظر گرفته شده است. به عنوان نمونه، استفاده از قمه در مراسم رقص‌های سنتی ساموآیی یا مکزیکی، یا نگهداری آن به‌عنوان شیء موروثی در خانواده، می‌تواند مشمول معافیت باشد. همچنین برخی انجمن‌ها و سازمان‌های فرهنگی یا موزه‌ها امکان نگهداری قمه را خواهند داشت.
دولت تأکید کرده است که استفاده‌های روزمره مانند باغبانی، آشپزی، کمپینگ یا دفاع شخصی هیچ‌گونه مشروعیتی ندارد و به‌طور کامل ممنوع خواهد بود. همچنین فروشندگان تنها در صورتی مجاز به عرضه قمه هستند که مجوز رسمی از کمیسار ارشد پلیس داشته باشند و مشتری نیز واجد شرایط قانونی باشد.
این تصمیم در راستای افزایش ایمنی عمومی و کاهش خشونت‌های مرتبط با سلاح‌های سرد اتخاذ شده است و دولت ویکتوریا از شهروندان خواسته است با تحویل قمه‌های خود، به اجرای این قانون و ارتقای امنیت اجتماعی کمک کنند.

Ban on Possession and Sale of Machetes in Victoria from September 2025
Victorians will have until the end of November 2025 to hand in their machetes to police without facing penalties.
According to Radio Neshat, the Victorian Government has announced that from 1 September 2025, the possession, carrying, use, purchase, and sale of machetes will become illegal in the state. Offenders without a valid exemption or permit could face penalties of more than $47,000 in fines or up to two years in prison.
Under this new law, residents have until 30 November 2025 to surrender any machetes they own without penalty. Safe disposal bins will be available at selected police stations, where machetes can be deposited after being safely packaged.
Despite the ban, certain cultural, historical, and traditional exemptions will apply. For example, machetes used in Samoan or Mexican traditional dances, or those kept as family heirlooms, may be exempt. Cultural organizations, museums, and collectors may also retain machetes under specific conditions.
The government stressed that everyday uses such as gardening, cooking, camping, or self-defense will not be permitted under any circumstances. Retailers will only be allowed to sell machetes if they hold an official license from the Chief Commissioner of Police and if the buyer has a valid exemption or permit.
Authorities say the decision is aimed at improving public safety and reducing violence linked to bladed weapons. The Victorian Government has urged residents to hand in their machetes during the amnesty period and support the implementation of this new law.
